Winchester Mystery House Tour

Think of it as your own magical mystery tour in “Silicon Valley,” San Jose, CA

Come with Quality Assurance Travel as we head south on Highway 280, the “most beautiful freeway in the country” to the Winchester Mystery House in Silicon Valley. It was here in 1884 that Winchester rifle heiress, Sarah Winchester, began building her 160-room Victorian mansion—38 years in the making.

The Winchester Mansion is replete with so many baffling oddities that it is now known as the “Winchester Mystery House.” But the home also is an architectural gem. The 160-room Victorian mansion had modern heating and sewer systems, gas lights that operated by pressing a button, working elevators and 47 fireplaces.

We know you’ll be amazed at the delicate workmanship of the hand-inlaid parquet floors, the gold and silver chandeliers, and Tiffany art-glass windows looking out on the gorgeous gardens as well as the creativity—and expense—that went into even the smallest detail. Not surprisingly, the home also includes among the largest Winchester rifle collections on the West Coast.
